Kentucky Slow-Pitch State Tournament

Play begins tomorrow at Rivershore Sports Complex

The Kentucky slow-pitch tournament begins tomorrow at Rivershore Sports Complex as eight teams will compete under a one-day, double elimination format that will see a champion crowned by the end of the day.

Defending state champion and No. 1-ranked Holy Cross (26-1) enters the tournament as the favorite and will open up against Dayton at 9 a.m.  Awaiting the Indians in the second round on the other side of the top bracket could be No. 2 Lloyd Memorial (29-7), who plays Calvary Christian at 9 a.m.  The Lady Juggernauts were the only team to beat Holy Cross this season but first must get past a Calvary team (19-12) who is ranked fifth.

No. 3 Scott (23-5) and No. 4 Campbell County (21-10) are the highest ranked teams starting out in the in lower half of the bracket.
