State Repeat For Holy Cross

Indians win second straight slow-pitch title

Holy Cross repeated as Kentucky state slow-pitch softball champions on Saturday at Rivershore Sports Complex in Hebron, Ky., with a 9-2 win over Scott.

The Indians (30-1) rapped out 10 hits and took advantage of six Eagles errors and senior pitcher Abby Webster earned MVP honors.

The Indians scored 31 runs in their three-game run to the title game by defeating Dayton (15-0), Lloyd (5-3) and Scott (11-1).  The Eagles, after losing to Holy Cross in their first match-up, dropped down to the loser’s bracket and made their way to the title game by beating Lloyd, 13-12.
