Calvary
Christian senior Macy Holsinger had her jerseys retired on Thursday in a
ceremony at the school to honor her accomplishments both on and off the
playing field.
Holsinger was a three-sport athlete for the Cougars
from 2000-06 participating in volleyball, basketball and slow-pitch
softball and among many other honors will graduate this spring as class
valedictorian. She recently led the Cougars to their first-ever 20-win
season in leading the team to a berth in the Kentucky state slow-pitch
tournament. Holsinger batted an area-best .758 during the season.
“Macy has exemplified the true spirit of Christian
athletics by her desire for excellence in each area of her life. Her
Christian character and desire to do her best has been evident in the
classroom, in athletics, and in each area of her life,” said Calvary
Christian Athletic Director Jody Hilsher. “She has been a wonderful
example and leader. Macy’s softball jerseys are being retired to honor
her hard work and accomplishments in the area of academics, athletics,
and character.”
