Summer Lifestyles And Trends

What's hot off the playing fields in '06

School’s almost out and some sweet summer styles are delivering fun in the sun. Take a look at some of the fashions making this a super-hot season for style…

Shorts

Can you say - cool, comfortable, and casual?  Fashion styles for guys and girls are relaxed to the max this summer.  Some classic favorites – denim shorts and Capri pants – return for the ladies.  Lights and whites define the color trends for a clean, fresh look.  For both males and females, Bermuda shorts are making a strong stylish impact this season.  They are a smooth, lightweight, and stretchy material, accented with flap pockets, grommets, and trim.  In denim, cargo, and twill – there are variations for every taste.  Young men will find cargo shorts, painter denim shorts, and for fun even plaids in their summer fun wardrobe.

Shirts

Our warm-weather shirts are simple, but showcase serious style.  T-shirts, tank tops, halter tops and camis are tried-and-true female summer fashion favorites.  But this year brings personalized flair with beads, sequins, and ribbon.  Wide scoop neck and v-neck designs allow the ladies to showcase a beautiful neckline with or without jewelry accessories.  For another creative twist, look for embroidered shirts that make a unique statement.  The essentials dominate for the guys.  Check out classic tees, pocket tees, and polo shirts in solid colors, graphic and classic designs.  Or, try Old Navy’s stylish Safari Shirts for something a bit more adventurous and carefree.

Summer Dresses

Sugar and spice and everything nice…that’s what summer dresses are made of!  For a more sweet and innocent look, crochet dresses are a beautiful choice.  Natural colors make for a style that can easily be either dressed-up or down.  To spice things up, you’ll find mini skirts that are fun and fashionable.  Denim, frayed, and paisley designs demonstrate that minis offer big-time style.

Sandals

Playful pairs are at the forefront of foot fashion.  Gals, you can showcase those pretty pedicures with a selection of sultry sandals.  There’s something for everyone…jeweled, leather, metallic, jelly, braided, crochet, and more.  For example, Old Navy’s Women’s Sequined Wedge Espadrilles are adorned in shimmering sequins, with sling back styling, a silky ribbon that wraps around the ankle, and a wedge heel that gives you an uplifting look.  Men’s flip flops are full of fun and freedom.  And no, it isn’t just the same old thing.  Patterns and graphics add a personal touch.  Soccer style sandals are both comfortable and flexible – a great pick for the leisurely, lazy summer days.  And slip-on sneakers offer a relaxed alternative available in solids, plaids, stripes, and graphic designs.

Shades

Step back in time, with sunglasses that have styles from the seventies!  Ladies go for glamour in oversized styles.  Think big, think bold.  Metallic accents or sequins help make the perfect fashion statement.  For men, go suave and understated.  Classic aviator styles will be the popular look this summer.  And almost-rimless rectangles are another sleek stylish selection.

Swimwear

What would summer fashion be without the hottest styles in swimwear?  Yes, the season may only come once a year, but it is well worth the wait!  Whether two-piece or one-piece, the ladies have multiple selections to meet their style preferences.  The must-have trends in swimwear feature bold floral, preppy stripes, tropical prints, hardware details, and more!  For men, it’s all about the board shorts.  The style is simply classic and works well in Bermuda styles, solid, tropical, or striped patterns.

Yes, the fashions are fun and there’s definitely something magical in the air at summertime.  The sun shines brighter, the temperatures are warmer, and the days seem timeless.  Relax and enjoy all it has to offer.  Make some great memories and look forward to a fun, exciting, (& fashionable) fall!

Hot Gaming Action

Oblivion

Pull up a seat on that next lazy, hot summer day and get ready to play two of the latest video games just released recently…

With the arrival of the Xbox 360 last fall, “next generation” graphics and huge virtual worlds were promised from the large video game manufacturers. The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion is the first game out that has really delivered on these promises.

Oblivion is a massive role playing game where you take the role of a prisoner who is thrust into a 200-hour game play quest to save the world of Cyrodil from demonic creatures that come out of the gates of Oblivion. This game is gigantic! You can literally walk for an hour north to south across the map, and not have gotten to the other side, and that is just a straight line not exploring any of the caves or towns along the way! With a game this huge, it is surprising that the detail and graphics are the best you can find on any console, and every part of the world is as realistic as you would expect from high definition power that the 360 has.

This game is the best Xbox 360 has to offer right now, and at 200+ hours of gameplay, you will not get bored of this game and its stunning graphics anytime soon.

Fight Night Round 3

EA Sports Fight Night: Round 3 is the newest boxing title to hit shelves for the Xbox 360. This title has the best looking athlete character models I have ever seen. In the game you can play as old school brawlers Muhammad Ali, and Joe Frazier, or you can play as more current stars like Roy Jones Jr. Each one of the boxers is represented beautifully in high definition on the 360.The game also has ability to make a completely custom character with hundreds of different boxing style combinations to mix and match. You can create your character and start a career complete with training regiments, and big money prize fights, or take your character online to Xbox Live, and have a bout with someone else online. There are also plenty of unlockables in the game from the types of gloves you wear, to the color of your trunks and mouth piece.

While the games single player career mode is pretty short, and the unlockables will not take you much longer to get, the real action is on Xbox live, and that makes the game replay ability much higher. While my only gripe is that there is no Mike Tyson, there is still plenty to do with 20+ real life boxers, and infinite custom boxer options paired with 7 different weight classes. Given all of this, there are tons of different fight scenarios for you to have, and the experience is best enjoyed with friends or people online, and not against the computer AI.
