The i-wireless
Tour wrapped up its 2005-06 season on Friday night at Oak Hills High
School and what a season of fun and excitement it was.
The Tour began back on Friday, Aug. 19, 2005, with
Dixie Heights at Highlands in one of 10 featured football games and then
moved to the hardwood for nine more games, concluding with Lakota East
at Oak Hills on Feb. 17, 2006. Over the past six months, only one snowy
night on Dec. 9 resulting in a school and game cancellation kept the
Tour from showcasing 38 teams and 15 host schools from several different
leagues.
The i-wireless Tour wouldn’t be possible without
the participation of several Greater Cincinnati companies who stepped up
big as sponsors to support the Tour and special thanks goes out to our
Tour title sponsor i-wireless and Cincinnati Bell. Other Tour partners
include media partners WCPO-TV and New Rock 97.3, Cincinnati Sports
Medicine, Coca-Cola, Elite Photography, Gold Star Chili, Paramount’s
Kings Island and Pet Stop Pet Fence Systems.
The 2005-06 i-wireless Tour provided for non-stop
highlights on a weekly basis, including a variety of promotional
giveaways. Re-visit all the highlights of the Tour at Hacksports.com in
the i-wireless
football section
and
basketball section that includes the Gold Star Chili Star of the
Game, PKI Thrilling Play of the Game and a photo gallery that captures
each night’s action from start to finish.
This year’s i-wireless Tour may be over but the
groundwork is already being laid for the 2006-07 Tour that will start
back up in August. Look for schedules and other announcements
concerning the Tour later this summer.
