The Little
Miami girls’ basketball team continued to build upon its best season in
school history by beating Dayton Carroll 60-46 in a Division II regional
championship game on Friday night at Vandalia Butler High School.
The Panthers (26-0), ranked No. 1 in the state, won
their first regional title and now advance to the state Final Four next
Friday at 1 p.m. at Ohio State University’s Value City Arena against the
winner of Bay Village Bay or Mentor Lake Catholic.
Three different Panthers scored in double figures
led by junior center Courtney Grambley’s 18 points. Senior guard Jessie
Carmack scored 10 points and junior Kelly Hicks added 10 points.
Little Miami jumped out to a 15-8 first quarter
lead and stretched it to 27-16 by halftime. By the second half the lead
stretched out to 18 points as the Panthers cruised to the win. |
