The Firebirds will meet defending state runner-up St. Xavier (20-4) on Thursday, March 16 at 6:15 at Xavier University’s Cintas Center.  The Bombers, ranked No. 6 in Cincinnati, routed Greater Catholic League South rival La Salle 62-37 behind Walt Gibler’s 16 points.

No. 2 Princeton (20-3) will face Trotwood in the second game on Thursday at Cintas Center at 8 p.m.  The Vikings beat Northmont 68-46 with Ben McGrath scoring 17 points.  Princeton jumped out to a 19-6 first quarter lead and extended it to 41-18 by halftime and coasted to the win.

Elder (22-2), playing through the Columbus regional, defeated Centerville 52-49 to win their first district title since 2001 when they advanced to the state title game.  Kyle Rudolph scored 12 points and grabbed 14 rebounds for the Panthers, who will play Reynoldsburg on Thursday, March 16 at 7 p.m. at Columbus’ Fairgrounds Coliseum.
