Mayo, Walker share player of the year honors

North College Hill juniors O.J. Mayo and Bill Walker were among a group of four voted co-players of the year in Ohio Division III by an Associated Press media panel.

Also named co-players of the year were Nate Davis of Bellaire and Eric Schiele of Atwater Waterloo.

Mayo and Walker have led the defending state champion and top-ranked Trojans (24-1) back to the state semifinals for the second straight year.  They play Archbold tomorrow in one semifinal contest at Ohio State’s Value City Arena.

Mayo averaged 28.8 points, 8.8 rebounds and over five assists a game this season.  Walker averaged 22.4 points and over 11 rebounds a game.

DIVISION III

 

FIRST TEAM: O.J. Mayo, North College Hill, 6-foot-5, junior, 28.8 points per game; Bill Walker, North College Hill, 6-6, jr., 22.4; Nate Davis, Bellaire, 6-3, sr., 38.9; David Lighty, Cleve. W., 6-10, sr., 22.9.
